Fashion week review – the Barnardo’s way!

Fashion Week has been and gone, and our team at Barnardo’s Retail were keeping an eye on the latest fashion trends with as much anticipation and excitement as every other fashionista out there.

We’ve trawled through a few of our Barnardo’s charity shops to recreate our favourite looks…whilst saving a heck load of money.

Denim never seems to go out of fashion, hooray!

We found this oh so cute Dahlia denim dress in our south Woodford store, at over half the RRP.it was a steal at only £25!

The collar, pockets and elasticated waist brings character to this simplistic dress, which you can easily dress up or down. We teamed it up with a fabulous tan bag with tassels. A great combo for Spring and Summer.

Flower power

Floral designs were once again seen throughout fashion week. We found some great little numbers in our Barnardo’s stores.

We dressed up this bold V-neck navy blue dress from Topshop with a loud and lovely floral blazer to add some colour and warmth. Both items were only £6.99 each, meaning you can recreate this fashion week trend for less than £15.

If you want something more delicate and playful, then this summery French Connection playsuit may be just up your street.

Oh, and it’s only £15! Flower power.

Knitwear

Okay, the sun is shining but it’s still pretty chilly out – a thought some designers must have had in mind when they bought knitwear to the catwalk with long skirts.

We were a fan of this preppy yet feminine number by Ralph Lauren, and it was pretty easy to recreate as there are always loads of jumpers to choose from in our stores.

White shirts

White shirts have been given an overhaul this year, much to the dismay of every strict boss, we imagine.

This £15 Dahlia White Tunic Shirt Dress with Embroidered Scallop Collar brings two trends together as certain designers like Marc Jacobs and Emilia Wickstead seemed to be a fan of at fashion week.

It’s surprising just how many on trend pieces are waiting to be found in your local Barnardo’s store.
