Hello! I’m April (also known as Prilly Thrifty on Instagram). I’m a massive lover of living life for less, especially when it comes to fashion. My weekend is not complete without a look around a local charity shop and that’s what inspired me to set up my blog Prilly Thrifty – to showcase my finds and connect with like-minded people.
A few weeks ago, I was set the outfit challenge by Barnardo’s; to spend as little as possible on an outfit, which I thought was going to be a tough task! I took myself to my local Barnardo’s store in Fishponds, Bristol to start the challenge. I also love the store in Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire. Barnardo’s are really reasonable with the cost of items, so you can put together an outfit on small funds whilst supporting vulnerable children across the country. It didn’t take me long to find some pieces to make this casual outfit with some edgy details.
The colours on this Topshop shirt drew my attention, and the gold studs on the collar and the pearly buttons gave this plaid shirt an edge that I love.
It’s always good to have some basic tees to layer with jumpers and shirts. Again, the colours on this £1.99 H&M Baseball top caught my eye.
I love comfortable jeggings! Black is my go-to colour for trousers and I liked the added pockets with zips, and the seams by the ankles (which reminded me of riding jodhpurs) that I found on these M&S jeggings for only £1.99.
Three items for £1.99 meaning a whole outfit for just under £6 – amazing!!!
My challenge didn’t end there. Just as I thought I had completed my mission, I found an Internacionale vest for £1.99 as well! I loved the slogan on this top.
So these are my finds: an outfit from Barnardo’s with another top option, all for under £8! I hope these affordable looks inspire you to go your local Barnardo’s store and search for finds like these!
