Susie’s Retro Homeware Haul

Hi, my name’s Susie and I blog at secondhandsusie.blogspot.co.uk and share my thrifty finds on my instagram.

I popped into my nearest Barnardo’s charity shops in Telford and Wolverhampton over the last couple of weeks to pick out the sweetest retro housewares I could find!

We moved into our new home last year and we’re still decorating. As I try to live a green and thrifty lifestyle, buying second hand from charity shops like Barnardo’s is the best! It lets me fill our home with unique and retro things and the prices are lovely too.

Here’s what I bought!

I collect these kitsch bits with fawns and bunnies and squirrels on. They’re made by Hornsea and the range is called ‘Fauna’. I was super pleased to bring home this squirrel with a log planter to join my collection! I also picked up this mid-century jug, – another thing I collect. I simply couldn’t walk past it for the price of 50p!

Erm, it’s starting to sound like I have a lot of collections, because I found a 1970s Marks and Spencer’s tray, which is also something I have several of! This brown one is different to my other trays and had to come home with me. Perfect to serve lemonade and vegan cake from this summer!

There’s no reason why the inside of your fridge can’t be pretty. Which is why I bought a lovely, Pyrex bowl for £1 to store my potatoes in!

I grab these white and gold frames whenever I see them too! They’re perfect for giving a retro touch when I hang up pretty art prints.

The best bit? All this came to under £10!

Thank you Barnardo’s! You’ve made my house very pretty indeed!
