I picked up this striped shirt in the Lytham St Anne’s Barnardo’s, during a girly weekend in Blackpool back in September. The mustard yellow caught my eye immediately as it’s one of my favourite colours at this time of year – ideal for transitioning into our autumn/winter wardrobe. A stripe is a timeless print, which in my opinion, always adds a spot of chicness. Plus, I love a dipped hem/front-tuck combo; loose and comfy but still has shape.
The wrap style is pretty low-cut for this cold weather, so I sewed a little press-stud to create a V-neck, and layered a sensible vest underneath with a cheeky lace trim on show.
I paired my new £6 pre-loved bargain with dark indigo jeans to bring out the navy, and then mixed in my other favourite autumnal tones. These tricolour boots match the mustard whilst also introducing burgundy and forest green – yum!
I added a full-length coat and faux leather bucket bag to keep with the tailored feel, complete with a pom-pom for a bit of fun! The finishing touches were tortoise-shell hoop earrings and a splash of dark maroon lippy – because yay winter!
All set for my cosy pub lunch and Sunday afternoon baby shower.
