After the long Winter months, I like to breath some fresh air into my home with a big clean, a re-jig of my stuff and bring in some new thrifted homeware pieces.
My local Barnardo’s is my go-to for pre-loved homeware accessories and whether I have something in mind or not, I’m always guaranteed to stumble across some one of a kind bargains!
I love to blend my thrifted finds, with items I already own, to achieve a curated and lux look. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve acquired a charity store item that was a mere fraction of the original price tag and in absolutely perfect condition. Shopping pre-loved is a no brainer. It’s ethically sustainable, while also supporting a worthy cause in the process!
Here are my latest Barnardo’s finds I’m loving, which I picked up for my big annual Spring refresh.
Marble vase
The most gorgeous little object, just look at those curves! It’s cute and dainty but also has something quite deluxe about it. Totally on-trend right now, I adore this piece!
Decorative Shells
Shells are my favourite – I love anything beach related and I practically snatched these off the shelf when I laid eyes on them. The colours and shapes are so beautiful and they store my jewels and lippy perfectly.
White plant pot
I’m always on the lookout for plant pots, you can never have enough, can you? Plant pots can be quite pricey when bought new, but I grabbed this one for just £1! The colour makes is really versatile, it goes everywhere and with everything!
Wooden dish
I adore the colour of this dish so much and knew instantly that it would complement both my living room and kitchen décor beautifully. It also came with a nifty stand, so I can display it on a shelf, table or wall.
Salt tea-light holder
This gorgeous salt tea-light lamp complements my Himalayan salt lamp just perfectly. In the evenings I like to light candles, fairy lights and other low light appliances, as they help me to wind down before bedtime. This tea-light lamp has the most delicious glow when lit, and was another bargain at just a couple of quid!
All in all, a very successful spree I’d say! All of this for less than a tenner, with change to spare! Pre-loved homeware shopping is one of favourite things to do. Along with this, having a bit of a re-jig and a big spring clean, my home feels refreshed, clean and an inspiring place to live again.

We’ll be in touch 🙂
I’d love to collaborate. In fact I’ve just written my first blog post and set up a website (well the basics!) after being inspired by a Barnardos survey about fast fashion! It’s about finding #7ways2wear items in your wardrobe and getting creative, instead of simply buying more.
Amazing, drop us an email at leigh.omahony@barnardos.org.uk 🙂
