Pulling your style and keeping it individual can be a challenge with more and more high street chain stores morphing and offering rail upon rail of similar looking stock.
Finding a pretty print, shirt or dress that can be paired with you favourite skinny jeans, coloured tights is a treasure hunt worth exploring. So many contemporary designers draw inspiration on past styles and prints, owning an original is priceless without the price tag to match.
Seek classic individual pieces that can be easily slotted into your everyday wardrobe.
My old haunts, the charity shops are now specializing in vintage, making the search even easier. Barnardo’s Vintage in Cheadle is a great example. The colour popping, well curated store inspired me and a couple of friends to take a 300 mile road trip to experience it. It did not disappoint!
Every piece of vintage clothing I own has its own story to tell and brings me so much joy, somebody always comments, even strangers making it a conversation starter.
Accessories including headscarves, bags, jewellery and brooches are a great addition to any outfit for a little splash of vintage.
For me the experience of the hunt and feeling the fabric is all part of the appeal but if that is not your jam, there are many online sellers that will help to start your search and make vintage a part of your everyday.
Big thanks to Robina for sharing her pre-loved finds with us this week on The-Thrift, we can’t wait to get shopping for vintage pieces when our shops re-open. Be sure to head over to her Instagram and give her a follow.
