Mustard Chic
I picked up this striped shirt in the Lytham St Anne’s Barnardo’s, during a girly weekend in Blackpool back in September. The mustard yellow caught my eye immediately as it’s one of my favourite colours at this time of year – ideal for transitioning into our autumn/winter wardrobe. A stripe is a timeless print, which in my opinion, always adds a spot of chicness. Plus, I love a dipped hem/front-tuck combo; loose and comfy but still has shape.

You can imagine my excitement when an email landed in my inbox from Barnardo’s, inviting me to guest blog for The-Thrift. And then the doubts crept in…I don’t even have a blog…what topic shall I choose…will people even find me interesting? Then I decided to get cracking, be creative, and try my hand at blogging! With hibernation weather just around the corner and onesie season creeping up, plus the fact I talk to myself all the time, I figured, why not get my thoughts down on here and share some of my favourite pieces!

Last week, I popped into the Barnardo’s vintage store for their Autumn/Winter range preview event. I’ve been in this store once before and I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere of the shop, so much so I wanted to photograph it and write a blog post featuring it. Their stock ranges from vintage clothing, to childrenswear, houseware and much more.
