Hello there. First of all, I’d like to introduce myself to you all. I’m Alice Christina, I’m from Newcastle Upon Tyne and I’m a part time charity shop assistant manager and part time fashion blogger. As somebody who works in a charity shop I’m well aware of some of the amazing things you can find in them. Over the past couple of years I’ve found myself shopping less and less on the high street and spending most of my money on pre-loved clothing. As of late I’ve focused a lot more on featuring clothing I’ve bought from charity shops, which if I’m honest, isn’t hard at all as around 90% of the clothes I buy are pre-loved now. So today I thought I’d share with you some ways I incorporate charity shop-bought clothing into my wardrobe by showing you three ways that I style stripes.

Holly Olivia – My Style Challenge
When Barnardo’s set me the challenge of styling an item from one of their shops in three different ways, I was so excited. I love charity, pre-loved and vintage hunting; it is so much more rewarding than high street shopping, especially when you find an incredible piece! I headed down to my local Barnardo’s in Whitley Bay, and it wasn’t long before I found something. A white shirt, or blouse, is a basic which everyone should probably have in their wardrobe, but I didn’t actually own one since I’ve never quite found the perfect one for me within my budget. Cue this amazing Wallis number! The ruffles on the front are so on trend for S/S17 and I love the balloon sleeves. It is such a versatile piece and I actually got it in the sale for £1.55!
Barnardo’s Outfit Challenge
Hi! I’m Miss Eleanor May, and I was recently set the Outfit Challenge by Barnardo’s Retail team to find an outfit in one of their shops whilst spending as little as possible!
One of my favourite Barnardo’s shops is located in Plymouth, Devon, and I try to visit whenever I’m in the city. This particular shop is a 99p shop and there is always an incredible array of clothes, accessories, toys and homewares for sale.
With my challenge in mind, I got the chance to visit and was delighted to find a beautiful dragonfly dress which was originally £26 from Next and still had the tags attached – and you guessed it, it was only 99p! I absolutely fell in love with this dress as it fits beautifully and is perfect for wearing all year round, layering up in the colder months.
