I’m really excited to be back guest blogging again for The Thrift! It was great to hear and see all the positive feedback about my last post. I thought it would be interesting to do another piece where I style an item four different ways.
Today I am styling a stripe t-shirt from the brand Ninety Percent that I picked up from Barnardo’s for just £4. I have been looking for a striped t-shirt for a while but have never been able to find one that encapsulates my style. I often read that a stripe top should be a staple in everyone’s wardrobe but sometimes I find it hard to style them in new and creative ways. I fell in love with this top while I was rummaging through the rails of my local Barnardo’s shop and thought I would challenge myself to find four unique ways to style it.
For my first outfit I wanted to create something that incorporated mixed prints, a trend I’m loving right now. I paired the t-shirt with a wrap around silky skirt by the Diesel Black and Gold brand that I also picked up from Barnardo’s. I feel like the mix of the subtle red print in the skirt paired with the red stripe in the top. It makes a perfect day to night look.
For my second outfit I wanted to create a staple summer outfit. Something that would be really easy to wear and restyle with a different tee for a new look. I tied the t-shirt in a knot and layered it over a simple vintage Ghost slip dress that I picked up on eBay. You could also easily put the t-shirt under the dress for a slightly different vibe. I love this look as it is really easy and interchangeable!
This outfit is a classic take on how you might wear a stripe t-shirt. I wanted to do a little colour blocking so added this bright red Bitte Kai Rand button up top that I got from TK Maxx. I like the idea of wearing this top as a sort of jacket to make a bold statement. I wanted this outfit to show that you can style it simply but still be creative at the same time.
For my last outfit I wanted to have a little fun and do something a little different. I layered the t-shirt under this crochet dress by Sezanne which I got from Scope. I carried on colour blocking by tying a white denim jacket around my waist which I picked up in TRAID in London. I feel like by keeping the outfit to only three colours, it makes it fresh and interesting without being too chaotic.
I really hope you enjoyed my second four ways styling blog post for The Thrift and it have given you some styling ideas on how you could incorporate a stripe t-shirt into your summer wardrobe!

I absolutely love this top! You can never beat a good stripe, especially one that fits you so well! I think my favourite look is the last one though, I have been after a dress like that for ages but I would never have thought of layering something like that underneath it so thank you 😀
