Fashion Revolution Week – Emma Carline’s Story

Fashion Revolution Week Day 4 is here!

Next up in our Fashion Love Stories series is the effortlessly stylish Emma Carline, sustainable fashion, lifestyle and style queen and digital creator. Pre-loved clothes are such a huge part of content and we are obsessed. Check out the below love story of a piece in her wardrobe that’s 5 years old.

“RE-WEARING is COoL!

HEY I’m Emma Carline and today I want to talk to you about rewearing your clothes, EVEN those statement pieces you don’t think you’ll wear again.

I was searching through my archive, and I came across these images and knew instantly that I needed to re-wear this top!

I thrifted it at least 5 YEARS AGO! & it is still in my wardrobe. I wear it every summer, it’s truly timeless!

This item of clothing, as well as many others in my wardrobe hold a story and a meaning. For instance, I remember wearing this top to Parklife festival in 2018! I remember dancing, lauging, smiling and joking with my friends. I made some amazing memories in this top, and I will continue to do so over many more.

Just because you’ve worn something to a festival or ” big event ” doesn’t mean that you can’t wear it again! I know it takes away a lot of the wearability, but we buy clothes to WEAR them. Not just to display them once, but truly LIVE in them. So make them memories, and hand me downs for future generations – and share those memories with them.

So don’t be afraid to re-wear! Honestly, it’s one of the coolest things you can do. For you and the planet.”

These are the kind of love stories we love to hear and see, so why not get involved and tell you own? Photograph it, film it, write about it! Get involved this Fashion Revolution week and share your love story.

Embroidery Upcycle for Barnardo’s

Hi, I’m Laura from www.thriftylondoner.com, where I talk all things money saving- including lots of reviews of the best charity shops in London, with regular up-cycles and repairs that you can follow along with on Instagram @thriftylondoner.

Barnardo’s stores always feature high on my list as affordable, well organised places to find unique pre-loved clothing. One of my favourite Barnardo’s stores in London is in Brixton, but the store that has a special place in my heart is the dedicated Barnardo’s vintage store in Cheadle (you can follow them on Instagram @barnardos_vintage). If you live in Manchester or you are ever visiting- it’s a must-visit!
