Spring In Three Words? Feel Good Fashion.

Perfect Pastels

Gelato hues. For spring. Ground-breaking! This season’s twist comes in a pastel pile-up of parma violet, lemon sorbet, and layers of pistachio. This might look like tough work, but it’s surprisingly easy to create: scan your wardrobe, pick every pastel item in sight, and stack those ice cream shades one on top of another like a triple scoop of your favourite flavours.

Aprils Winter Trendbook

Hi, my fellow thrifters!

I’m back again with another monthly segment. Winter is officially here, bringing with it a cold snap. This month’s blog is therefore all about a few of my favourite key looks for the season.

This cold weather will not stop my passion for fashion! Nearly everything pictured below was picked up at various Barnardo’s shops. Make sure you check out your local Barnardo’s, especially this time of year for great pre-loved finds to keep yourself warm, cosy and stylish.

Happy reading!!

Kicking off, this is one of my favourite looks for this season.

Re-discovering Thrifting

I started my Instagram account a few years ago to go compliment my YouTube channel, where I made videos about vintage fashion, up-cycling, and re-working clothes.

Eventually, I stopped making videos and just focused on posting Instagram pictures. Working in fast fashion, I’m constantly shopping at the big stores and online. This is great, but I have neglected my love for thrifting and charity shopping.

Recently I took a trip to my local Barnardo’s and picked up a few bits. I’ve decided to create a little lookbook to show that you don’t have to spend a lot to create great outfits. There is also the added bonus of supporting a charity – double feel good factor!

Add a twist to the classic pinafore with this fun autumnal colour. Team it with chunky knits and your favourite trainers to create that perfect casual vibe.

Holly Olivia – My Style Challenge

When Barnardo’s set me the challenge of styling an item from one of their shops in three different ways, I was so excited. I love charity, pre-loved and vintage hunting; it is so much more rewarding than high street shopping, especially when you find an incredible piece! I headed down to my local Barnardo’s in Whitley Bay, and it wasn’t long before I found something. A white shirt, or blouse, is a basic which everyone should probably have in their wardrobe, but I didn’t actually own one since I’ve never quite found the perfect one for me within my budget. Cue this amazing Wallis number! The ruffles on the front are so on trend for S/S17 and I love the balloon sleeves. It is such a versatile piece and I actually got it in the sale for £1.55!

Jade’s Favourite Spring/Summer Trends

I’m back again writing on The Thrift!!!

Hi guys, it’s Jade here (known as @charitysh0pqueen on Instagram) and I’m here to run you through my favourite Spring/Summer trends of 2016. With crazes such as the nautical trend, the undergarment obsession and 60s fever, I am here to talk about it all…

This blog post includes, how it is possible to stay on trend when on a budget, through the use of charity shops like Barnardo’s, car boots, kilo sales, vintage stores or buying (second-hand) online. You name it; there are many ways of buying cheap, yet ethical clothing, while still retaining quality.
