Our take on London Fashion Week 2015

London Fashion Week 2015 took the capital by storm last week showcasing the trendiest styles for 2016.
Here at Barnardo’s we were in awe of some of the looks, so we decided to recreate some of them using items found in our stores across the city

The Little Black Dress, otherwise known as the ‘LBD’, will be forever iconic, however for next year’s warmer months a Little White Dress will be the must-have piece for your summer wardrobe.

Some of the most popular looks on the runway included gathered waists using belts and ties as seen in David Komas’ collection which hit the runway on Sunday. Flowing skater-style hemlines and lace enhance the summery look.

The colour palette for Spring/Summer 2016 included burnt orange and red tones. We found a beautiful red dress at our Barkingside store which imitates one of the looks seen at the Paul Smith runway show.

With such a bold colour, few accessories are needed to make this outfit pop, but it’s the perfect option for a night out.

Clashing prints were all over the catwalk at the House of Holland show on Saturday.

Be bold and pair different patterns together in one outfit to really brighten up your wardrobe in time for summer. Keep accessories to a minimum and focus on the different colours and textures as seen on the runway.

We recreated this look from the House of Holland show using a floral blouse found in our Whetstone store for only £5.99 teamed with these Primark floral trousers £2.99 from our Barkingside store.

Stripes were all over the runway this fashion week; the nautical theme was captured within many collections including House of Holland, Markus Lupfer and Gareth Pugh who put his own stamp on the theme.

Some of the looks as seen at the Faustine Steinmetzs’ presentation are very easy to imitate!
We came across a fantastic bodycon black and white striped dress in our Whetstone store for £6.99 – a total steal!
What we love about this look is how it’s simple, yet edgy, making it very easy to be on trend.

What better way to embrace LFW than to combine trends and recreate an entire outfit? Mixing the nautical theme and a red colour palette , makes the outfit pop. The striped shorts add an eye-catching pattern to the outfit.
Finish this off with a straw boater hat as seen on the runway and you’re all set for summer. We found this Kangol vintage hat for £1.99 in our Edgware donation centre.

The Simone Rocha show was one of our favourites. Feminine silhouettes incorporated with soft pink and nude tones gave the collection a lovely, romantic feel.

We just couldn’t resist recreating a look based on her show. Pink has always been a firm favourite, but Rocha gives this girly look a sophisticated feel. We picked a silk Hugo Boss dress found in our South Woodford store and teamed it with a cute bowler style hat. This look would be perfect for a summer wedding, or even a day at the races.
