Love is in the air…

With Valentines Day just around the corner, there is a certain buzz of romance in the air. From loved  up couples making plans to go out, and groups of friends making wild night out plans at their local singles club night, there is no escaping Cupid’s presence this weekend..

So in the weekend of love, is it possible dress to impress with charity shop finds? Let me take you through my top Valentines outfit’s I’ve pulled from the rails  of my local Barnardo’s store in which I feel a million dollars but cost just a few pounds.
First up – I almost cried tears of happiness when I came across this stunning Gina Bacconi coat. Full price this would have price tag of around £200, I snapped this beauty up for only £18. It can dress up a casual outfit for a perfect date night look, like I have worn here with ripped jeans, a striped top and heels, or it can add extra glamour for a more evening look, like with this playsuit and pink belt. The scalloped edges add individuality to the coat and the print keeps it girly and feminine.

Want something more classic cut? Then go for a mac or trench style coat. Trench coats are one of those items that come in regularly so you stand a good chance of finding one in your local charity shop. I’ve teamed this beautiful gold silk Topshop limited edition one with thigh high boots.

Love is 3

A wardrobe staple, lots of celebs are working the over the knee boot trend for a sexy look. I teamed mine with some of my Barnardo’s finds – a blush pink vintage mini dress for a night out with the girls, and an oversized printed jumper for a date night with my fiancé.

Leather jackets are a great way to give some edge to your outfit if you feel it’s too girly. Coloured leather jackets are all the rage, so don’t feel like you have to stick to black or tan. I found this fabulous pink one in my local Barnardo’s store, which keeps the look fun and flirty, but toughens it up slightly so it isn’t sickly sweet. Weather permitting, go all Kim K and wear your jacket over your shoulder(s) for extra style points.

This little Mango number caught my eye in Barnardo’s the other day. The fringing effect makes it a great skirt for a date night, especially if you are going dancing. The deep red shade makes it the perfect colour for valentine’s night too. I teamed it with a plain black top to let the skirt do the talking, and added a fringed cardigan to keep up the theme.

I hope this helps you find the perfect Valentines outfit! Have a fab weekend however you celebrate. M  x
